SECOND TEAM

The 2018/19 season for the 2nd team promises to be a very exciting one. Competing in Midlands 1A, the same league as the 1st team, this years team has the perfect opportunity to displays our strength in depth across the club and show that we have 2 teams capable of competing at such a high level.

Last season did not live up to expectations, resulting in a 6th place finish in Midland 2A. However, a reshuffle in BUCS due to the 3rd team being promoted has resulted in the the 2s being given the opportunity to prove that last season was an anomaly and are capable of making the step up to 1A.

This year's 2s are to be seen as extension of the 1s squad, mimicking a similar style of play and shape, in order to aid fluidity between the squads. This is something which is very welcomed by the boys as it gives them the best opportunity to play at the highest standard available at the University. With the quality of players within the club ever improving, the potential of having 2 teams challenging and competing in Midlands 1A is one which is very realistic.
