THIRD TEAM

The 3s begin their season in the Midlands 3A league, hoping to achieve a 3rd successive 1st place finish. In a quite unique sequence of events, where the 2nd team were relegated and the 3s were promoted, a reshuffle in BUCS leagues has meant the 3s are participating in 3A this year, despite winning division 2B last year. Nonetheless, expectations are high and the motivation is continue the 3rd teams winning run is very strong.

Last year was a phenomenal season for the 3rd team, expertly lead by skipper Gavin Spruin. The addition of Pete Bell to the coaching staff was a astute move, where his leadership and clear tactics culminated in a title. With a undoubted team spirit and clear way of playing, the 3s won 7 of their 10 games, whilst also getting to the last 16 of the cup.

The squad was a young one, with many freshers often in the starting 11. A mixture of experience and youth was a good move, and has set the future of the club in good stead. Hopefully this is carried over to this season and we can see a 3rd consecutive title for the 3rd team.
